Obituary for James Clifton Unkart

James Clifton  Unkart
James Clifton Unkart, 97, of Reisterstown, MD passed away on October 31, 2016. Born November 17, 1918 in Reisterstown, MD, he was the son of the late Earnest and Lena (nee, Gauss) Unkart and the husband of the late Dorthy Louise Unkart. He was one of nine sons.

He served in the US Army during WWII and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He was also an escort for President Harry Truman towards the end of the war. His very first job was as a weaver where he worked at various clothing mills around the Liberty Lake area.After that he went to work for Westnghouse until he retired at the age of 62
James resided at the farm on Deer Park Rd for over 50 years.

Surviving are his son, John Unkart; and daughter, Judy Lynn Unkart; four grandchildren: Jerry, Tammy, Jay, and Michael Unkart and three great-grandchildren: Bailey, Sarah, and Colby.

In addition to his beloved wife, James is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy and daughter, Judy Lynn Unkart.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016, from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Eline Funeral Home, 2901 Bloom Rd, Finksburg, MD. A service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
