Life Story for John William Adams

John William  Adams
John William Adams passed away on December 20, 2017. He was born to Arthur Adams and Reva Taylor Adams at home in Halthorpe, MD on October 3, 1924.

He fought in WWII and was severely wounded on D Day and received a Purple Heart. On November 2, 1945 he married Mae Frances Green (Oxford, NC) in Baltimore, MD. They were married for 63 years before her passing.

John worked selling insurance and investments for many years. He was very active at St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Woodlawn for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Shriners and played in the oriental band. He loved playing golf, volunteering and spending time with family and friends. He retired in Ocean Pines, MD where he lived for 21 years.

John is survived by his three children, Paulette (Adams) Wagner of Tallmadge, OH, John W. Adams, II (Donna) of Columbia, MD and Pam (Adams) Blumberg of Hanover, PA. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, his remaining sister, Gladys Gardner and many loving nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at the Eline Funeral Home, 2901 Bloom Road (at Rt. 91), Finksburg, MD on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-7pm. Service will be held at the funeral home at 7:00pm. Interment in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 10:45 am.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 or Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
