The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Richard Davis can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

You will be missed my dear uncle. Your contagious laugh, even amidst adversity, your loving and caring ways, your love for animals big and small, flowers, oceans and rivers and all creation. You found a way to give and help your family and friends, even though you were struggling yourself. My heart breaks knowing I will never hear you laugh again. I only take comfort in knowing you are not hurting anymore, knowing that your soul is free, freer than you ever were in this world. My heart takes comfort in God's promises, knowing I will see you again and your body will be completely healed. I will always remember you… That day you saw me after many years and skinny you lifted me up embracing me in a bear hug even though I probably weighed more than you; the day you showed up at the hospital in PR giving me the shock of my life; the day I returned home from the hospital to find the most beautiful landscape you had left behind for me; the day we drove to NC singing Bon Jovi songs out loud whether we were in tune or not, you kept telling me to embrace the hippy in me and sing my heart out; the day you gave me the tastiest chili I've ever had only to tell me later it was made with deer meat (oh, how much we laughed that day!) Memories of you will always be in my heart and the hearts of all of those who met you because you my dear uncle were one special guy. I love you my sweet uncle and I'm thankful for your unconditional love and all you did for me! Until we meet again. Hugs to all my family in Maryland, I miss you all and wish I could be there with you. Chris and I send all our love.
